Government Derives Power From the Consent of the Governed

“…From the consent of the governed…” That’s us! That’s the people! The Declaration of Independence clarifies that God has given man rights and the people instituted government. That’s where the power lies…with the people of this government. I have read this paragraph dozens of times but it struck me today that the power comes from us. Let us not feel without influence. Let us not become trodden upon. It is our responsibility to stand up for what we believe in. This can be done by calling and writing representatives, exercising your right to vote, writing letters to the editor, etc. So speak up!
